Figured id start this project thread, now that the project is basically done. For now anyways... Didnt really document a ton, so this will be fast....lol

I purchased this car, after getting a call from Saso back in Nov 2011. He seen it on CList, had a busted motor, and it was a smokin deal. I had purchased his old 327 Sportsman shortblock from a member about a year prior, so I had a shortblock. I also had some Trickflow TW heads already on a shelf waiting. And ironically i purchased his old upper Trickflow R intake, from that same motor when he had it, from another member as well, it was apparently passed around alot. So i now had a car, block, intake.

The car the day i went to look at.

Made the guy an offer, and had it towed home the next day. The car is an original 5.0 T5 car with 150,000 miles on it. Youd never guess it was a Michigan car its entire life. No rust, and the windows moldings are near mint. The car had high mileage as the owner would drive to California in it. It then sat in his garage. He said he had installed 92 forged pistons in the car back in the late 90's and was spraying a 100 shot in it. It had an MSD box in it, the NoS kit, and other crap that i broomed. I wanted the car back to OE. He must have been a chain smoker as well, interior was filthy.

It then went from storage to storage location, never being driven. I ripped out the 95 GT seats that were in it, and located a set of correct Opal seats here on MM. I ripped out the entire interior, replaced the carpet, mats, steam cleaned everything twice. Headliner was nasty. Had Todd from Reiters weld up some cracks in the floor, roll the rear fenders, pound in the inners, and weld in some SFC's.

In the mean time, I sold the Trickflow heads and prurchased an inline style head. I also located a V1 S-Trim kit from Corral.

I have never taken on this type of project. I needed help. Enter Saso again. He came by my storage to check something out one day, i mentioned taking the engine out one day. Needless to say, he wanted to do it then. So out it came in.

So 3 years go by.
Everything has been done interior wise. I painted all the window moldings. Removed all the "Cobra" emblems. Installed a cheap 5 lug swap.

Everything is just taking up space now. Enter Saso again. This dude is the real deal. Unreal the shit he did for me, cant stress that enough. I take over everything i have engine related, so he can assemble his old motor again.

On the coldest fucking night this past Feb, we throw it in.

as it sits now. Waiting for the suspension to settle a bit, to determine if the rear is too high. And need to tint the windows. This is was on the way to get it tuned.

After tuning it made 521 at 5800 and 498 lb torque, with 8.5 psi through a T5. :) Im geeked as fuck.
Cant thank Saso enough. Would never have even taken on a project like this if it werent for him. Amazing dude.

at one point...lol.

Rob, i ended up giving your setup away to another member. I bought a new Dynomax kit for her. Thanks again though, it did help me out alligning the new stuff up.

Did me buying that fridge help get it done? Lol

Glad it's alive and doing well. Looks great and very nice numbers. Liberty's can build you a very nice 5spd that will handle all you want to throw at it.
