Up for sale in an extremely clean, extremely straight,1979 Pace Car. This car was sold new in Beckley, WV and remained there for the duration of it's life. The original family had it when it was found. It was rarely driven as is evident by the low actual miles and how unbelievably solid it is! The hatch, doors, floors, and shock towers are perfect! The car does not appear to ever have been apart and it is still wearing it's original paint! The doors do not sag at all.
Mechanical:
Mechanically, the car has just been upgraded to with a professionally rebuilt (from top to bottom) 302 from a 1992 GT. It was bored .30 over, so technically is a 306 at this point. It is carbureted with a Holley 600. I have only put 25 miles on it, but it really does run GREAT! The new 306 is backed by a T-5 out of a 1992 GT and has a brand new centerforce clutch, clutch cable and a Pro 5.0 shifter. The rear end has been upgraded to an 8.8 with 3.08's. It has welded subframe connectors. It also has cross drilled rotors on the front and brand new parking brake cables installed (need to be hooked up). I also have the original TRX wheels that go with the car.
Interior:
When I found the car, the original Recaro's were gone. So, I upgraded to black leathers from a 1992 GT, which were hard to find, but in great shape. The dash has minimal imperfections, and has never been cut for a radio thankfully. The factory "quadrasonic" 8-Track is sitting on a shelf, and it works well. It has brand new carpet already installed. The headliner has been removed though all of the trim pieces are there for an easy install.
Exterior:
Like I said, it is wearing 30 year old original paint. I have spent time gently bringing back, and it is relatively presentable. The black paint on the lower body could and around the doors should be painted but the rest of it is certainly driver quality. The paint on the rear bumper pretty much came off when it was being buffed, so plan on touching that up. You will also notice some premium spray paint over the rear quarters. Nobody can figure out why it is there. No filler or rust is evident anywhere so who knows. It comes off with a finger nail, so it should be easy to remove. I took it to one of the greatest body shops in our area and they were amazed at how straight and solid it is. Like I said, this car is essentially rust free. The top of the car, around the sunroof has a bad spot which you can see in the pictures. I am also including a brand new complete decal kit which will help if you ever paint the entire car.

Bottom line:
You could hop in this car today and drive it about anywhere as mechanically it is great! It runs cool and collected. However, the paint needs attention, the shocks and at least one spring needs to be replaced, the headliner is gone, it could use tires and an alignment. I have a clear Ohio title stating the 49,987 miles that were on it when I bought it are actual!
As you can see from my feedback, I try to give very detailed and accurate descriptions, but please ask any and all questions! The reserve is very realistic so bid to own! I would consider a trade, so let me know what you have in your garage......I am not looking for a project however!
Thanks for looking and good luck!
