1969 Camaro aka Angy Pumpkin
First and foremost I would like to thank the guys at Henn Racing Technologies, Motor City Speed, Weldcraft Wheels, D&D Transmision and QD Coatings. I have been on a mission to bump start Michigan's economy. On a serious note I listed those companies bc I was very impressed with how many local vendors/shops in Michigan are pumping out quality work/parts. Hopefully this will give people local options for your car needs. I can say first hand that their services/parts are top notch. Anywho now to the fun stuff:
Like a lot of others my hobby has spiraled out of control. That being said I love the car and can't wait till it's done.
Posted some of these before but here is my starting point. This pic is straight from the original craigslist ad
Not too long after I went with modern size wheels and brakes.
Decided to change up the look with some carbon overlay parts
Before
After
Of course I couldn't leave it alone so had to powder coat the wheels. Figured that I might as well widen the rears so I would only have to powder once.....
That's were the trouble began. Not accounting for how much widening the wheels would affect rear fitment I had to gut the rear suspension......and that's where it began to spiral.....
Hey, might as well do recessed subframe connectors.
Modify front subframe. Sure, why not?
Hmmm might as well do a fab housing.
Old cage was hodge podged by myself so might as well...
Main hoop welds
Shock mounts
Decided to go with coil overs in the front to match the rear which in turn caused this. A-arms setup for factory suspension had to be modified.
Motor mounts had to be modified
New cross member
Tabs and clevices for easier removal of the trans.
Cross bar for the ladder bars
New motor requires more fuel so I went with an Aeromotive cell with integrated A1000
Sneak peak of the motor
Mock up but you get the idea.
At least the cookie cutter Kooks fit!
And here's a repeat of rough draft of the ride height
