Posting this for the same friend I posted the 86 'Vert for. He's swamped finishing grad school getting ready to move so he needs to clear out the shop. This used to be my old truck, turns out the rust we saw in the cab corners was just the beginning. He's been through the entire cab and front end and fixed it all. He also did the 73-79 F150 front disc brake conversion too. Pics are in the link below. I want him to run the brake and fuel lines, and get it on the road. I see about 10-12 hours worth of work to do that.. Oh well, somebody scoop it up and you can be rolling in a few weeks.
1965 Ford F-100 Styleside Shortbed.
Engine: 289 V8 from a 1965 Ford Galaxie
Trans: Factory 3 speed manual converted from column to Hurst floor shifter
History
Truck was the hotrod of my friend's wife's uncle. The uncle was getting up in years and no longer able to cruise a manual steering, 4 wheel manual drum, manual transmission truck. My buddy bought the truck, swapped the cam, added headers, pulled '79 F100/150 power disc brakes, front suspension, and power steering parts from a local junkyard. . . and then he got tied-up in the 8 other partially completed vehicles in and around his garage.
I bought the truck 2003-ish. I knew the cab supports were rotten as well as the driver side front cab mount. I learned that there's always 3 times as much rust hidden from view on these types of projects. . .. But I liked the truck and wanted to try fixin' it up. I have been working on it on and off in my garage since 2003. As it sits right now it is a reasonably solid, rolling project that could be put back on the road without an unreasonable amount of work by a gearhead.
Work done
The following parts have been installed:
Vehicle status
Additional Info
The truck is for sale because I have 2 semesters left in grad school and I need to shrink my fleet / improve my mobility before I graduate. Between my job and school I just don't have the time to get it running and can't justify moving it after I graduate.
Price: $2500
