A friend of mine had this sitting behind his shop and said I could have it.




We cleared away some of the brush so I could haul it out of there





 
Found this guy hitchhiking inside it

I kept it at the shop while I shuffled some cars around at home. I pulled the I-6 out because it was locked up and not worth messing with.

Inventoried the parts to see if anything was missing, nothing major was!! SCORE!!






Scored a low miles running 318 & 904 trans for it

Not yet, I'm back and forth on doing a subframe, or using what I got. I picked up a manual rack for mockup from a buddy of mine, I might just keep the straight axle and try to go that route.
 
Fabbed up some engine mounts from some rollbar tubing I had laying around





I still gotta add some gussets to these
 
Those mounts look right. Figure out a driveshaft and hook the steering wheel to the front tires. Fuel, spark, drive!! Complete with hitch hiking spiders!!

That's the plan. I hit a small snag when the original gearbox and the starter on the 318 were interfering, so I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do there. I have a rack I'm gonna try and make work.
 
Thanks Mike, the truck is actually sidelined right now because of the roadrunner I'm working on. Here's a few more pics of the truck.

That's it for now, once I get this roadrunner out of my garage, the Imperial is coming in for some cosmetic work and ball joints. Then I'll get back on the truck.
