hey guys im looking at ordering some 17x4.5 front runners for my stang, but the only tires i can find are the expensive ass M&H's.
does anyone know of a cheaper tire that would work? i cant find anything
thank you.

i have the 17 inch fronts and m&h makes a street tire and a race tire, street ones are 5 lbs heavier than the race... there isn't much of a 17x4.5 selection, i actually don't think anyone else makes a tire.. expensive all the way around..

How much cheaper you want...you're talking a niche market tire, by a very reputable company...i think MT makes then too, but not any less price wise.

just looking not to have nearly 300 wrapped up in front tires, but i cant find anything else in the size i need.
hoping one of you guys knew of a tire. if not looks like i will have to just get the M&H's

Very true... not many people want to spend a G on front wheels... while you're at it throw the 300 on the tires.

exaclty, im going with the greg weld dragstars up front. decent price on jimsracingtires.com
as they are a decent price, the rest of my build is getting costly so im trying to save where possible. if i cant it's not the end of the world.
i could just go with a 15 and save a bunch of money, but it would require me switching out my brakes... plus the 17's look sooo much better.

i know this all to well lol... going to a 17 is like 400 dollars more then going to a 15. but they look an ass ton better, especially with my big brakes.

rims are being ordered next week.
i have never had a problem with hard braking with the car before, that was with a 245 though.
why would switching to a skinny tire require the need for an adjustable proportioning valve?

a lighter wheel will lock up easier because of the lesser rotating mass, combine that with the small contact area of the skinny tire and it can be dangerous
