12mm = .475"..........is there really much of a difference in "upgrading" to 1/2" studs??

Seems like your only upgrade is to 5/8" studs.

I have heard the 1/2 is stronger. How much/is it worth it? I don't know.

I know part of your decision is going to have to be if you want to drive around on the street all the time with drag wheels.......because I do not know of any street wheel manufacturer (like your 17" Firebird wheels) that allows for 5/8" studs.

I doubt you could even modify them to fit.......especially if they have a conical seat lugnut.

Larry I ran ARP 12MM 2 7/8 studs in my car for a few years and thats when I broke into the high 9's. I actually put them in the front when I changed over to 5/8 studs in the rear.

I bent all the arp's last year on the left side( when I blew up the 12 bolt)
I haven't bent any this year with the spool and anti rollbar but I kinda wanted to know how strong they are cause I don't need to loose a wheel anytime soon
