$1200 stimulus check / child support question

Asking for a friend (really)
Will the Government shred his check into 300 pieces if he owes child support?
 
I would think not unless there is an active court case on his tax return or something. Unless she has a REALLY good lawyer.

Lawyer friend says it will depend if there is an active payment plan in place vs no cooperation at all. We will see.

A quick google search says it will be intercepted if there is ANY owed amount. So he may be SOL

I'm behind a month, long story but the friend of the court wont let me catch up on that 1 payment. I got mine today, all 1700

The FOC is weird. When I went to boot camp the Marine Corps made me prepay 3 months (because they didn't want me to not pay when I was gone). I wrote the check and went to boot camp. They mailed the check back home and made me pay monthly.

As for the stimulus checks, they work the same as a tax return for going towards back-supoort owed.
