106.7 WLLZ - Detroit's New Classic Rock

We all know that terrestrial radio is dead... but has anybody started listening to the new formatted 106.7? They claim to be the "new generation of classic rock" which means 80s-90s. I'm not sure what I think about 90s music being called "classic rock". It sounds like WRIF from the 90s without the annoying stereotypical morning show. They have Bill McAllister on mornings, Trudi Daniels afternoons, and Doug Podell on evenings.

Anyone know where Arthur P is these days?

I heard then use the new call sign the other day and it caught me off guard. I preferred it as an alt rock station. I have a hard time with remembering the 1990 was 30 years ago (seems like 10 years).

It's very much like WRIF before 89x bled into the station.

I like it better than the station it replaced. Kind of weird hearing a classic rock station playing Red Hot Chili Peppers though. Guess I am just old! If you have an HD radio, their 2nd channel is 90's only and is pretty good too.

You know you're old when you hear Guns n Roses and Alice in Chains playing at the grocery store.

I guess I'm older than the rest of you ... what ive heard so far is good ...
like others have said ... like WRIF in the 90's ...
Now if WCSX would go back to a 60's -70's format instead of wayy tooo much 80's I'd be a happy camper
now if they could bring back WABX....

A welcome change and addition, my truck does not have sirius and I was getting tired of changing channels every 30 seconds

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold a second. Did you just say WRIF in the 90s had an annoying morning show? Are you kidding? have you been ingesting exhaust fumes in closed garage? smh.

Sorry. I meant 2000s. (I moved here in November 1999.)

Bill McAllister has a morning show? That could be funny I might check it out. best story ever told is how he got pistol-whipped by a guy in a mustard colored suit...hahaha

Need a metal channel around here

Mabye the old Z-Rock will come back from the dead too !

Definitely strange to see the call sign letters "W L L Z" scroll across the radio tuner again; had it on here & there the last couple of nights, not bad.

Wonder if WLLZ will air another "Joey Bag O' Donuts" TV commercial - "Or next time he's naked !" LOL

I need to change the stores that I shop at... Id love to buy beer while Alice in Chains, Man in the Box is playing.

I can get you A-Plan on a new truck... that'll fix the SIRIUS concern.

Seriously tho, Pearl Jam, Led Zeplin and some Van Halen can stay off of the air. It's the three bands that WRIF crammed down everyone's throat.

Add Pink Floyd to that list. If I had the radio on I could tell what time it was just hearing Pearl Jam or Pink Floyd, the weekend rotation was nuts.
