1" of sidewall or 1" of tread??

Ok so I'm stuck on tire choice. Streets around my house are too bumpy for these 325/45 17 M&H's I just dropped the fronts off to weldcraft to get narrowed so hoping to have the new tires on in a couple weeks. Fenders are rolled but it will still rub real slightly on bumps or turning to hard.

I'm stuck on the 275/50 17 M&H which is a true 28" tall tire or a 295/45 17 Mickey Thompson which is listed as 27.2" tall. I'm leaning towards the 295's just because I like the look of a wider tire. Anyone have any experience with the 275/50 m&H's seems like they run a little narrow compared to other drag radials.

No experience but I want the 275/50 17 M&H. Its 270.00 a tire & I hate spending that kind of money just to burn up-I know im in the wrong sport lol-I like the idea of a true 28in tall tire.
