Asking cause you guys know your shit and a lot of the Gmt800 forums seem to whine about the simplest shit....
Please edumacate me. If I had an 01 2500 crew cab (8.1L/Allison/4wd) and wanted to swap in the drive train from an 03 2500 single cab (8.1L/Allison/4wd), what do I need to know?
I am not hip on the 8.1L/Allisons
I assume 01 is cable throttle and 03 is drive by wire. Will the 01's wiring mate up to the '03 drivetrain? Can I swap tb' s or intakes if needed?
I do have a TechII clone so I can do crank relearn and programming if needed (theoretically anyway - I am a n00b with the TechII)
Reason for swap? '01 has a lotta miles and wear and tear, but '03 is junk body and has 10k original on it
